Who we serve · Clients of an acquired advisor
The problem
Ownership shapes the advice.
Who owns the firm influences whom it serves, how decisions get made, and what happens to the relationship over time. You deserve to know the people advising you also own the business they are building.
How Valla works
Independent and employee-owned.
That’s the reason the firm exists. When you move to Valla, we rebuild your plan from scratch and put it in a form you can read and track yourself. You’ll know what you own, why, what it costs, and who’s responsible.
What you get
Specifically.
A firm owned by the people who work here and committed to remaining employee-owned A full plan rebuild, not a transition packet Portfolios built around protecting what you already have, not chasing an index Fee terms documented in the advisory agreement and Form ADV One team, one point of contact, continuity that’s structural, not personal A clean, orderly transfer we manage end-to-end
Frequently asked questions
The questions people ask us. And the ones they don’t.
The one nobody asksHow do I know Valla’s ownership commitment is meaningful?
You should not have to rely on a slogan. Valla is owned by the people who work here, and the firm is committed to remaining employee-owned.
Current ownership, governance, conflicts and your rights if ownership changes are described in the documents you receive before becoming a client.
The one nobody asksWhat happens if you die or retire?
The plan is written down, the process is written down, and more than one person on the team knows your household. Continuity is structural: a documented plan, a client portal you can read, and a team that is not a single personality.
The one nobody asksHow will I understand the fees?
The applicable fee schedule is provided before you commit, and the advisory agreement and Form ADV govern. If a high-water-mark arrangement is available, its qualified-client condition, quarterly calculation, and deferred-fee treatment are explained in those documents.
The one nobody asksIs moving my accounts a nightmare?
It is mostly paperwork, and we do it. Accounts generally transfer in kind, so the transfer itself does not require selling holdings. Typical timelines are two to four weeks, subject to account type and custodian requirements.
I liked my old advisor. I just don’t like who bought them. Is that a good enough reason to leave?
Yes. The relationship you valued is no longer there, and it is worth being honest about that.
The one nobody asksHow is your planning different from the plan the new firm gave me?
Our plan starts with your household—who decides, what you are protecting, and what the goals are in your words—and lives in a form you can read and track. If you cannot explain your current plan to your spouse, it is not a plan.
Do you have a minimum?
Roughly $1.5 million in investable assets. If you are close and it is a fit, talk to us.
Who this is for
Households with $1.5M+ who want a 100% independent, employee-owned firm—and want the next move to be the last one.
Let’s make this the last time you have to switch.
30 minutes. No pitch. We’ll tell you if we’re not the right fit.
