IHaven Reserve

Haven 7 · I. Reserve

Money you need soon should not depend on the market.

Reserve holds capital with a short, known horizon. The objective is a competitive short-term return without accepting equity risk in the window where you cannot afford it.

The shape of Haven Reserve

Every Haven model changes the relationship between what the market does and what you experience. Reading left to right: how the model is designed to behave when markets fall, and what it gives up when they rise.

How this model is defined

Time horizon

3 to 12 months.

Objective

Hold near-term money without taking market risk, while earning a competitive short-term rate.

How it is built

Exchange-listed index box spreads used as an alternative to short-term Treasuries at a matched maturity.

Role in the plan

Funds known near-term obligations—taxes, a purchase, a transition—so longer-horizon capital is never sold at the wrong time.

Common questions

Why not just hold cash or T-bills?

Reserve targets the same role. The instrument is selected for yield and tax treatment at a matched maturity; whether it improves on a bill depends on conditions at the time.

Is Reserve guaranteed?

No. It is designed to avoid equity market risk, which is not the same as being risk-free.
